Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to oversee daily (PM) operations and ensure exceptional service in our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, demonstrating leadership and management skills to foster a positive work environment. This role requires a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
Manage staff through effective team management, including hiring, training, and supervising employees.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
Maintain high levels of customer service by addressing guest concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
Utilize POS systems (including Micros POS) for cash handling and transaction processing.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and improve profitability.
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and encourage teamwork.
Foster a positive work culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.
Skills
Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food service industry.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations gracefully.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Micros POS preferred).
Ability to conduct interviews and evaluate potential candidates effectively.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.

What you will be doing:
Motivate, lead, mentor and train the team
Strategize with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Directors on promotions, menus, special events, new products and service offerings
Develop and grow Alouette's positioning as one of the top dining choices in Vancouver and Canada.
Ensure Five Star standards and brand standards are maintained
Create unforgettable experiences for our guests and staff
Manage revenue and expenses for Alouette (manage labour, productivity and budget guidelines)
Your experience and skills include:
Minimum 2 years Senior management experience as a department Food & Beverage department head in a luxury restaurant/hotel
Product knowledge of wines, liquors and other beverages. A Sommelier designation is an asset
Working knowledge of financial reporting (budgets, labour management, productivity, revenue & expense management)
Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills. Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
