THE ROLE:
In this dynamic role, the Advisor, Air and Climate Strategy will manage and execute emission programs that include enhanced methane monitoring, regulated reporting, voluntary disclosure and certification. You will work both internally and externally towards fulfilling regulatory compliance; improving data management; and obtaining certification with the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP 2.0) to recognize the company\xe2\x80\x99s low-carbon footprint.

The position requires occasional travel to the Fort St. John office and field.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Assess, validate and collate PECL air emission data to align with certification program requirements
  • Lead internal staff and subcontractors to prepare disclosures and support verification activities
  • Evaluate efficacy of methane monitoring technologies and their interaction with emission disclosure programs. Support integration of suitable technologies
  • Write technical summaries of PECL operations, data management systems and quality assurance/control measures relevant to air emission sources and monitoring programs
  • Lead incentive funding application, reporting and verification activities
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals and support supply chain activities
  • Collaborate and represent PETRONAS interests with industry associations, government departments and certification bodies to maintain company awareness of emission disclosure requirements and opportunities
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Manager, the strategic direction for the Air Program and ensure that the company is meeting the objectives of this plan
  • Develop presentations and effectively communicate with a variety of key stakeholders


WHAT YOU BRING:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the Oil and Gas sector with a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (minimum) in an associated environmental science or engineering discipline
  • Professional designation with experience relevant to:
  • Certifying or developing certification standards for low-carbon operations
  • Auditing or reporting air emission inventories in accordance with ISO 14064 and 14065 standards
  • Developing or evaluating methane monitoring technologies
  • Proven ability to research emission technology and understand relevant Regulations, Acts, industry standards, and policy
  • Proven ability to draft presentations and effectively advocate on behalf of the company.
  • Knowledge of the interaction with other Oil and Gas disciplines and fields of work.
  • Proficiency in planning and control of work in a multi-project, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced, high volume team environment
