Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Leader to join our team. As a Camp Leader, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment for children, facilitating outdoor adventure activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children aged 5-12.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs for campers
- Ensure a high level of safety is maintained in all aspects of camp
- Ensure that campers feel safe and supported
- Provide guidance and support to campers during activities and outings
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all campers
- Work as part of a team (with the Manager, Adventure Camp Caoordinator, and other Camp Leaders)
- Assist with meal times, including serving food and promoting healthy eating habits
- Communicate with parents or guardians at the start and end of each day.
- Ensure that all camp equipment is clean, safe, and in good working condition
Must haves:
- Experience working with children in a camp or educational setting
- Good teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills
- Energetic and creative personality
Nice to Haves But Not Required:
- Canoeing and camping experience
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Driver's license
- First Aid/CPR
- Current Bronze Medallion (or higher)
- Experience teaching and/or supervising rock climbing is an asset
We offer competitive compensation based on experience. The Camp Leaders will always work with at least one other facilitator while running programs for campers.
There is a 5 day pre-camp (paid) training session prior to the start of camp.
