The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary



Department / Research Program: CORE



Project goals: Improving outcomes and use of healthcare services for all people with dementia, through an equity lens. The incumbent will coordinate the functioning of the team's mixed-method projects (quantitative and qualitative) on equity for people with dementia, exploring the differences in their health services use and experiences across social-determinants of health and their interactions, to inform equity-oriented policies.

As an early career researcher, building my lab, I am looking for a person to build a long-term, productive relationship with. This is a one-year, full-time position with the possibility for renewal and/or promotion pending fit and available funds. I am looking for someone who will stay in the position for at least 2-3 years.



General Duties




The incumbent will contribute to the research quality and support the research team by:



Managing the workflow of the lab, Formatting documents, including research summaries, charts and graphs, and posters, Coordinating meetings, including setting appointments, taking and distributing minutes, and preparing supporting documents, Communicating with partners at other universities and institutions (such as healthcare organisations), Managing the principal investigator's calendar, Preparing and proofreading drafts, annual reports, and other documents, Helping prepare and coordinate grant applications, Administering and maintaining research funds, Keeping the budget and initiating and tracking payments, Helping initiate procedures related to finance, HR, etc, Preparing and renewing applications, and filling necessary forms for ethics committees and procedures, Participating in knowledge transfer activities, such as creating and disseminating infographics and social media content, Updating websites, and creating and distributing newsletters, Updating the principal investigator's CVs (e.g., compiling conference presentations, student awards, articles) and CCV, Checking the quality of data-collection tools (e.g., checking that questionnaires function properly and display questions according to pre-set rules), Hiring and onboarding lab members, Managing documents and site files (Standard Operating Procedures etc), Undertaking any other related tasks as required by the principal investigator.

Education / Experience




Education: Bachelor's degree



Work Experience: 1-2 years of experience in coordinating and managing projects

Required Skills



Excellent competencies in oral and written communication in French and in English, Prior experience in project coordination and management, Experience with managing budgets, Proficient at using MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms, Teams, etc.), Google Drive/Docs, and reference and work management software, Autonomy (with minimum supervision after appropriate training), initiative, creativity, curiosity, Team player, Detail-oriented, Resourceful, Problem-solving skills, multitasking, organized, Excellent interpersonal skills, with a high level of tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain appropriate rapport and constructive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


The following are assets:

Preparing ethics and grant applications (very strong asset), Advanced knowledge of equity-related literature, including social determinants of health, intersectionality, and anti-racism, Experience working with historically marginalized populations, Experience with hosting workshops and seminars, etc.

Status:

Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)


Pay Scale:

Commensurate with education and experience. $45,299.80 - $67,958.80.


Work Shift:

Variable schedule: Working hours are flexible, but typically land between 9:00-17:00.

Work Site:

Hybrid: Montreal General Hospital. Flexible: with at least 1-2 days on site
