About the Role



We welcome applications from qualified individuals from all backgrounds. We are looking for a curious, self-motivated, and well-rounded individual to join us as an Actuarial Analyst. Reporting to the Divisional AVP, Capital Management, you will perform key activities of regulatory capital reporting, Financial Capital Testing (FCT), Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), and financial planning. The position will also support projects such as process/model improvement and data analytics. You will have the opportunity to learn the reinsurance and retrocession business and work with other functional areas of the Reinsurance Division.

We offer an Actuarial Analyst Development Program that provides support for actuarial exams.

Job Responsibilities

(include but not limited to):

Manage the execution of quarterly regulatory capital calculation for the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) and Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), including review and analysis of results.

Perform FCT, including participation in scenario development, review and analysis of results.

Perform and review ORSA quantitative calculations.

Support financial planning for various entities under US GAAP, IFRS 17 and Solvency II bases.

Comply with actuarial and regulatory guidelines and internal controls.

Implement updates in model based upon changes in regulation, model approach or methods and assumptions.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Assist the Valuation and New Business teams as requested.

What you will bring to the role:



Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field.

Experience at a life insurance or reinsurance company is preferred.

Completed a minimum of 3 examinations of the Society of Actuaries.

Strong technical skills and ability to analyze and solve problems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Knowledge of insurance products and AXIS is an asset.

Good working knowledge of EXCEL. Knowledge of Visual Basic and Access is a plus.

Collaborative team player.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
