Job Summary Provides technical analyses and support for the actuarial function or department. Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.
What is the opportunity? The successful incumbent will support IFRS 17 actuarial reporting, risk management, and process transformation for the reinsurance product lines. What will you do?
Support actuarial financial reporting for the International product lines to ensure effective completion of annual, quarterly, and monthly actuarial processes
Support analytical processes in explaining earnings and movements in insurance contract assets and liabilities, as well as investigating gaps between source data vs. automated system outputs.
Support risk management functions, including hedge effectiveness assessment, Financial Condition Testing (FCT), sensitivity testing, and various risk reporting tasks.
Contribute as needed to valuation model maintenance, in-force extract data updates, and annual experience studies.
Assist in various actuarial projects as they arise.
Must-Have
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science. Other relevant Majors (e.g. Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics) are acceptable if accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial concepts.
Minimum 2 to 3 actuarial exams completed.
Actuarial experience with demonstrated knowledge of professional standards of practice, the legislative environment and industry best-practices.
Working experience and familiarity with Moody\xe2\x80\x99s AXIS system.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, take initiatives and accountability in addressing issues in actuarial results by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audience.
Nice-to-Have:
Working experience with R, Tableau, and SQL queries
Knowledge of IFRS 17 requirements
