Job Summary:

The Activities Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring we're offering our residents a wide range of daily activities. The Activities Coordinator plans, develops and ensure delivery of meaningful activity programs for residences that reflect the organization's vision, strategic direction and the resident's interest and in compliance with relevant government legislations and policies.

Responsibilities:

Inspire residents to participate in programs that they thought they could never do.

Develop and implement unique, meaningful, personalized programs for a growing senior's residence that breaks the status quo of typical retirement activation.

Complete Assessments of all resident residing in the retirement home to ensure that programs that meet their needs following the domains of wellness

Creating a monthly calendar of events.

Assist in the development of internal budget and implements effective expenditure control system for the activities program.

Help manage and schedule members of the volunteer program.

Improve the intellectual and physical health of the residents.

Introduce residents to computer applications, internet and video games.

Assist with escorting residents to and from activities both on and off site.

Maintain a clean and organized activities environment.

Document daily attendance, progress notes and assessment forms.

Maintain up to date and accurate files, records and statistic on the program.

In consultation with the General Manager, develop and implement policies pertaining to activation program.

Develop & maintain a rapport with staff, residents, resident families and volunteers.

Duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

Diploma in Activation / Recreation Therapy and fitness background an asset.

1-2 years' experience working with older adults.

Current CPR and First Aid Certification.

Must have thorough knowledge of computer applications.

Must be able to work well under pressure to deliver on all resident expectations.

Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Must be self motivated, innovative, creative, enthusiastic & energetic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
