Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $30.20/Hr. - CAD $31.89/Hr.
Summary:



Nestled in in the South Cambie neighbourhood, St. Vincent's Honoria Conway is an assisted living home with a vibrant community. Built on the principles of inclusivity, holistic care, and diverse activities, tenants are encouraged to personalize their homes and direct their day-to-day. As the Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing, organizing and delivering a variety of social and recreational activities for tenants based on their preferences and ability to participate. You'll work with an engaged interdisciplinary team (staff and volunteers) to create events and celebrations to commemorate holidays and special occasions. You will also play an integral role in providing input and suggestions to the staff team to improve and enhance tenant life and enoyment.
What You Bring:

Education



Diploma in Recreation Service Delivery and recent related experience of two years, Certificates in CPR and First Aid or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.



Skills and Abilities

Able to work independently and in cooperation with others Establishes and maintains rapport with clients, able to recognize changes in clients. Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to develop, organize, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate individual and group activities. Knowledge of, and ability to do, various arts and crafts, handicrafts, and sport activities while applying knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation process. Possesses ability to supervise, instruct, and to analyze and resolve problems. Knowledge of adult learning techniques.

Your Day to Day:



Plans and delivers social and recreational activities for tenants, both within the residence and in the community. Reviews Personal Service Plans to tailor activities to tenant needs, preferences, and limitations. Prepares and communicates activity calendars, including dates, times, locations, and event details. Manages activity resources and budget, including making recommendations, monitoring expenditures, and maintaining financial records. Engages and supports tenants, encourages participation, seeks feedback, and accompanies tenants on outings when needed. Observes and reports changes in tenant behavior, documents concerns, and assists with meals or special events as required. Coordinates with volunteers and external agencies, providing direction and ensuring proper scheduling and equipment maintenance. Ensures safety and cleanliness, addresses safety issues promptly, maintains supplies, and participates in staff meetings and other duties as assigned.
