Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team who can excel in a multi-functional role with a continuous focus on process improvement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of financial principles. Acounts Payable Duties
:
Verifying, coding, processing and scanning a high volume of invoices in a timely and efficient manner
Performing statement reconciliations
Record credit card entries and perform credit card reconciliations.
Process and enter employee expense reimbursements.
Attaching invoices to purchase orders and processing appropriately
Following up with vendors if needed to verify invoices for correct charges
Route non-inventory invoices to appropriate managers for approval
Liaise with operations department concerning AP invoices
Set up payments to vendors; provide full support to payment approver
Assist with performing weekly and monthly payment forecasts
Maintain and manage Vendor Master records
Other duties as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Abilities:
Minimum three years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a Project costing environment.
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software Spectrum is an asset
Solid understanding of ASPE.
Post-secondary education in finance/accounting an asset.
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and within teams.
