Job Description

Our client is offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Ottawa, Ontario. The selected individual will be part of a healthcare sector team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable tasks.Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Utilize ERP system to verify the correctness of invoices

• Handle credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accounted for

• Manage petty cash receipts, maintaining precise records

• Execute payments to US and Canadian suppliers in a timely manner

• Ensure verification of signatures on financial documents

• Undertake account coding activities as part of broader accounting functions

• Use Accounting Software Systems like ADP - Financial Services and Concur for financial tasks

• Perform account reconciliation, accrued expenses auditing, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) tasks.

• Minimum of 3 years experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a related field.

• Proficient in Account Coding.

• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required.

• Familiarity with Concur software.

• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.

• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions.

• Proven experience with Accounts Payable (AP).

• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting.

• Auditing skills are a must.

• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) procedures.

• Proven ability in Account Reconciliation.

• Experience with Accrued Expenses is necessary.
