We are in the process of recruiting an Accounts Payable Specialist to be based in Ottawa, Ontario. This role is particularly suited to individuals with a strong understanding of the real estate industry. The successful candidate will be expected to keep vendor relationships in good standing, ensure payables are processed in a timely manner, and handle vendor inquiries effectively. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the resolution of invoice discrepancies to maintain an accurate accounts payable system
• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of payables
• Manage vendor relationships effectively to maintain a smooth flow of operations
• Handle vendor inquiries promptly and professionally
• Oversee the matching of invoices to ensure they align with purchase orders
• Utilize Yardi or Newstart software for the matching of purchase orders
• Keep a strong attention to detail in all accounting tasks
• Ensure the accurate coding of the account, utilizing skills in ADP - Financial Services, Concur, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Perform account reconciliations and make necessary accounting entries
• Oversee the process of automated clearing house (ACH) payments
• Contribute to accounting functions and accrual accounting processes
• Perform auditing tasks as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related field

• Proficiency in account coding procedures

• Familiarity with accounting software systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of Concur software

• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to perform various accounting functions

• Extensive experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of accrual accounting principles

• Experience with auditing procedures

• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Ability to make accurate accounting entries

• Experience with Yardi Software is preferred
