About the Opportunity

  • Adhere to department standards
  • Respond appropriately to internal and external customer inquiries via phone & email, while maintaining a prompt and professional manner with respect to the customer/vendor
  • Finds and recommends positive resolutions or alternative options to vendor requests or challenges
  • Demonstrate proficiency with troubleshooting and independent thinking
  • Follow internal controls and company policies as set by Microcel
  • Contribute to the success of Microcel by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Charges expenses and inventory purchases to accounts and cost centers by analyzing expense reports, purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and recording entries in accordance with the company\'s month end process.
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; processing checks, wires and other electronic payment methods; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received foroutstanding memos; and issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Pays employees expenses by receiving, completing and verifying expense reports taking into consideration provincial and federal tax rules; and preparing file for ADP on the last payroll of the month.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Prepares monthly journal entry to accrue for known expenses such as utilities, etc...
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.
  • Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
  • Protects organization\'s values by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
About You
  • 1+ year for AP experience (year end, month end, tax filings, 3 way matching, reconciling vendor statements)
  • Accounting software experience\xe2\x80\xa6basic-intermediate Excel
  • Inventory experience
  • Strong communication skills (vendor interaction)
  • Audit experience (understanding what that entails)
  • Netsuite
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Distribution industry experience\xe2\x80\x99
  • CPA enrollment
Salary Range
$55,000 - $65,000/year
