We are in the search for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role is within the financial services industry and will focus on managing all accounts payable duties. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process customer credit applications with accuracy
• Keep track of and update customer credit records regularly
• Ensure a smooth run of payments and send them for approval
• Handle check runs and accounts payable duties
• Use Excel for vlook up, pivot table, and other functions
• Manage sales expenses for various sales teams
• Conduct thorough visa statement checks and perform visa reconciliations
• Pay bills online, managing around 20 bills
• Handle EFT batches and set up new suppliers
• Use various accounting software systems, including ADP and ERP, to optimize accounting functions
• Ensure proper account coding and manage accrued expenses
• Audit accounts payable processes for accuracy
• Use Concur for expense account management, expense accruals, and expense allocation
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial functions, including queries and formulas.
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
• Proficient in Account Coding, demonstrating the ability to accurately and efficiently process transactions.
• Strong knowledge of Accounting Software Systems, providing the necessary tools to manage and organize financial data.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services, showcasing the capability to handle payroll and HR services.
• Proficient in using Concur for expense management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of expenses.
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, demonstrating the ability to integrate and manage business processes.
• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions, providing the foundation for accurate financial management and reporting.
• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring efficient and accurate processing of financial obligations.
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting, demonstrating the ability to record expenses and revenues when they are incurred, not when cash is exchanged.
• Experience in Auditing, showcasing the ability to review accounts for accuracy and legality.
• Proficient in Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, ensuring efficient electronic transactions.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel, demonstrating the ability to use spreadsheets for data analysis and financial reporting.
• Understanding of Accrued Expenses, ensuring accurate recording of expenses incurred but not yet paid.
• Knowledge of Expense Account management, showcasing the ability to track and report business expenses.
• Experience with Expense Accruals, demonstrating the ability to record expenses when they are incurred, regardless of when payment is made.
• Familiarity with Expense Allocation, showcasing the ability to distribute costs across various departments or projects.
