Accounts Payable Specialist

Reporting to the Controller, the accounts payable specialist will be responsible for the full accounts payable cycle. The successful candidate will work alongside other members of the accounting team. Duties for this position are detailed below.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive, code, and input invoices into the accounting system including follow-ups with internal departments for timely coding/charge-out information Reconcile Vendor statements against the accounting system Monitor and reconcile the accounts payable sub-ledger/summary schedule Process cheque and payment runs regularly, including the appropriate support package for each payment Reconcile monthly Visa statements Identify and communicate any issues with invoices and statements received, and follow up with vendors until issues are resolved Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end schedule preparation and closing activities File and maintain supporting documents for all invoices and related payments Assist the controller with other accounting and administrative duties, as assigned

Candidates will possess:

A minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience Attention to detail is crucial, as this role deals with a large volume of transactions Excellent organization skills to keep track of invoices at various stages of the accounts payable and payment process Proficiency in Microsoft Office products Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills Automotive experience is an asset - we use the CDK Drive accounting platform Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
