Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Cambridge, Ontario. This role focuses primarily on managing high volumes of accounts payable transactions, with a small portion dedicated to accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively within a small team.Responsibilities:

• Process and accurately code a high volume of accounts payable invoices to the correct accounts.

• Manage daily postings for company credit card expenses across multiple credit cards.

• Utilize QuickBooks Online to maintain a paperless accounts payable system.

• Support the Director of Finance with workload management and financial tasks.

• Handle accounts receivable responsibilities as needed, comprising approximately 5% of the role.

• Create and manage Excel spreadsheets using intermediate functions such as pivot tables and XLOOKUP.

• Collaborate effectively within a small team to ensure seamless operations.

• Demonstrate resourcefulness and take initiative by asking questions when clarification is required.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts payable and roles in a high volume, fast paced work environment

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, with experience in paperless accounting systems.

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables and XLOOKUP.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.

• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Technically savvy with the ability to adapt to various digital tools and systems.

• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and workload management.
