WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Accounting Supervisor manages the day-to-day cost accounting and AP activities at our New Westminster manufacturing facility. They will ensure the accuracy for all financial transactions while providing support to the accounting team.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Cultivate a deep business partner relationship across the organization
• Create a culture of continuous improvement within team and across the finance organization
• Be responsible for month end closing and reporting, and preparing quarterly and annual forecast and manufacturing budget
• Assist and support department leaders to ensure each department is meeting regulatory compliance
• Monitor cost and variance reporting systems to control inventories and cost. Track material and overhead cost reporting trends as they occur.
• Maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial reporting
• Work with external auditors on financial reporting and accounting policies. Liaise with internal auditors for operational audits and compliance reporting

Job Requirements:

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• University degree in Business and/or Finance, Accounting or Commerce
• Accounting designation required (CPA)
• Minimum 7 years relevant accounting and business experience, including at least 3 years as a supervisor
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, knowledge of SAP (FI and CO modules)

Knowledge in analytics tools a strong asset (Power Query/Pivot/BI, etc.) * Experience in a fibre manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries
