Main Requirements:
- DEC in accounting (ideal)
- At least 3 years experience in full accounting cycle
- Fluently billingual to communicate with clients in Ontario
- Strong communication skills with direct reports
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills, and possess the ability to work independently to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact in a professional manner with all individuals and organizations to build a strong working relationship
- Experience with multiple accounting software programs and ability to adopt to a new system (experience with SAP a major asset)
- Strong leadership skills
- Initiative to propose and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Main Responsilbities:
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of the monthly general ledger close responsibilities for all entities, including the preparation of the month end journal entries, account reconciliation and analysis
- Supervise Accounts Payable functions to ensure all invoices are entered timely and accurately, vendor relations are managed and prioritized, obligations are met timely
- Supervise Accounts Receivable functions to ensure timely collection of revenue, appropriate credit terms/limits granted to customers, accurate application of customer payments, timely invoicing from logistics department
- Manage internal accounting procedures
- Oversee and handle A/P debit notes and A/R credit notes
- Assist the controller with ad hoc projects
- Handle inventory management
- Clear intercompany transactions
- Handle monthly/quarterly GST/HST/QST for all companies
- Perform other requested tasks
