For an immediate job opening, Robert Half is seeking a skilled and ambitious Accounting Manager, Inventory and Control for an on-the-rise, growing Retail company. In this position, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. The ideal candidate should be able to establish and scale company accounting and finance operations. Responsibilities:

• The Manager, Inventory and Control is responsible for accounting, reporting and analysis activities related to Merchandising, including Inventory, Cost of Goods Sold, Distribution and Gross Profit.

• The Manager is also responsible to ensure efficient and effective processes and controls are in place.

• The role closely interacts with the corporate accounting, merchandising, supply chain, financial planning and analysis teams.

• Reviews and manages processes around obsolescence and shrink and works collaboratively with the business to discuss associated matters

• Manages processes around standard costing as it relates to reporting and related analysis. Coordinates process with key stakeholders

• Responsible for monthly analysis of results as part of the close process and on ad hoc basis to support the business including highlighting insights to key stakeholders.

• Responsible to ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Participates and overseas processes and controls around inventory management including compliance with NI 52-109

• Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements through data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes

• CPA Designation required.

• Experience working for large publicly traded companies

• Experience with internal control requirements for Canadian publicly traded companies

• Experience in retail/CPG/ Distribution a plus

• Experience with process optimization and re-engineering

• Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

• Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation

• Proven knowledge of Accounting Entries
