The Organization:
Are you a CPA with experience in the not-for-profit industry or government-regulated sector? Our Halton client is an established government-regulated not-for-profit enjoying unprecedented growth. As a result, they have created a new position of Accounting Manager to oversee to lead a small team and manage the Accounting & Payroll functions. This is a 100% remote position.
The Role:
The Accounting Manager role reports to the Controller and leads a team of 3 direct reports and total of 6 staff. This role manages all day-to-day Accounting and Payroll. The Accounting Manager oversees full-cycle accounting, month end close and Payroll. As the Accounting Manager, you will ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded. You will ensure journal entries are correct and all balance sheet accounts reconciled in a timely manner. You will be the key liaison for the annual audit. You will also assist the Controller with the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
What You bring to the Role:
To be considered for the newly-created position of Accounting Manager, you must be a designated CPA. You must be a strong people manager and able to effectively lead a team. You must have experience managing full cycle accounting and the month end close. Past experience managing the Payroll function is required. To be successful in this newly-created position, you must have strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience. You are someone willing to delve into the detail when necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with strong not-for-profit experience, as well as candidates who have worked in a government-regulated sector (ie. healthcare).
