Overview



We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable

Part-Time Accounting & Costing Assistant

to support our financial operations and manufacturing planning activities. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, perform cost calculations, prepare purchase orders, and generate key reports in QuickBooks. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate financial data and helping optimize production planning through timely costing insights.

Key Responsibilities



1. Bookkeeping & Accounting Support



Maintain accurate accounting records and update books regularly. Post daily transactions into QuickBooks, including invoices, expenses, payments, and journal entries. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts.

2. Purchase Order (PO) Management



Create, issue, and track purchase orders as per operational needs. Ensure POs align with inventory requirements and approved budgets. Maintain vendor files and follow up for confirmations or delivery updates.

3. QuickBooks Reporting



Generate financial and operational reports from QuickBooks (P&L, balance sheet, expense reports, etc.). Prepare customized reports for management as needed. Assist in analyzing data for trends and operational improvements.

4. Costing & Manufacturing Calculations



Calculate product costs based on material, labour, overhead, and production inputs. Update costing sheets and maintain accuracy of cost structures. Support manufacturing planning by providing cost estimates, variance analysis, and required financial data.

5. Operational & Administrative Support



Assist with inventory reconciliation and stock adjustments. Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems. Support the business owner with additional financial or administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications



Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (manufacturing experience is an asset). Proficiency in

QuickBooks

is required. Strong Excel skills (formulas, costing sheets, calculations). Understanding of purchase orders, costing, inventory, and financial reporting. Excellent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Work Location: In person
