Position Overview

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the daily till reconciliation, accounts payable, and payroll, consistent with Hindson Marina's policies, Ministry guidelines and accreditation standards. The Accounting Assistant will be and employee of Hindson Marina and based in Penetanguishene. This individual will support our northern Marinas, including but not limited to Parry Sound and Britt, Ontario.

Essential Job Functions

Manage accounts payable Prepare bank reconciliations Conduct banking Prepare payroll Store, update and retrieve financial data Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing and record systems Perform general office duties Address customers' complaints or concerns Prepare financial statements and reports Receive payments Post journal entries Prepare invoices and bank deposits Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, using manual or computerized systems

Requirements

Hard Skills

Post-secondary education in a Business, Accounting, and/or Human Resources field is required Fully G Licensed Driver (travel to other Marinas from time to time is a job requirement) Minimum Solid understanding and experience in full 360 bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll processing and HR regulations Must have experience working with time and attendance programs Must have experience with payroll software, such as ADP, Ceridian, etc. Previous experience with Wagepoint Payroll system an asset Must have working knowledge of accounting software, such as Quickbooks Previous experience in LightSpeed EVO software an asset Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Strong knowledge of Employment Standards Act rules and regulations, including vacation, overtime, public holidays, etc. Strong knowledge of MS Office and Outlook Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Experience in the marine industry is an asset

Working Conditions

Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling May encounter noxious smells from wastewater, gasoline and diesel fuel

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 - 40 per week
