is looking for an

Accounting Assistant

with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our Finance team (Mine Service, Tire Country, and National Accounts) at our

South Edmonton Head Office!

This is a full-time term position with an expected duration of November 24, 2025, until June 30, 2026

Specifically, the Accounting Assistant will:

Provide guidance on accounting transactions, processes, and resolve related queries. Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals to ensure timely and accurate financial statements. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions. Complete month-end processes by specified deadlines, including checklist items. Analyze financial data, report significant issues to the Accounting Manager, and suggest resolutions. Support annual budget process, assist with inventory counts, and provide audit support. Manage national account invoicing, billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate sub-ledger balances.

What does it take to succeed?

College Diploma with a major in Accounting and at least one year of Accounting experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) software and demonstrated ability to accurately enter data Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with various levels within an organization; this includes excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills in order to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands within tight deadlines. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment as well as individually.
