MLA Law LLP is a boutique law firm specializing in business, real estate, and wills and estates law. We're currently seeking an
Accounting and Admin Clerk
to join our team. If you're a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounts receivable and a willingness to support various administrative functions, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:
Accounts Receivable:
o Track outstanding invoices
o
Follow up with clients via email and phone
on overdue accounts monthly to ensure timely payment.
o
Review monthly AR reports
to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies.
Backup Support:
o
Act as a backup for accounting and administrative duties, providing support during absences or peak periods
.
Administrative Support:
o Provide administrative assistance to lawyers, including
billing support.
o Offer
support
on
transactions
as needed.
o Administrative
assistance
for lawyers.
Client Interaction:
o Maintain positive and professional communication with clients regarding outstanding accounts, invoices, and billing inquiries.
Clerking & Transaction Closings:
o Assist in clerking tasks related to transactions, including preparation and review of closing documents.
o Support lawyers and clients during closings, ensuring all documents are processed efficiently and accurately.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum
2 years
of experience in an accounting or administrative role, with a strong focus on
accounts receivable
.
Familiarity with
QuickBooks
is an asset;
CosmoLex
experience is a bonus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail
and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication
skills for client follow-ups and team collaboration.
Proactively learn new skills related to transaction closings, accounting processes, and other administrative duties to improve overall team efficiency and client satisfaction.
Previous experience in a
legal or professional services
environment is an asset
