Star Global Trading Inc., an import/export company based in Vancouver, is seeking a skilled Accountant (contract/freelance) to support the transition from Excel to Zoho Books and provide ongoing financial support. This role is project-based with flexible hours and remote work options. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with bookkeeping software, and the ability to handle financial data with strict confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Phase 1 - Migration
Lead the migration of financial records from Excel into Zoho Books.
Phase 2 - Pricing & Support
Provide hourly-based accounting support to assist with financial reporting, reconciliation, and pricing strategies.
Help optimize workflows within Zoho Books for day-to-day operations.
Phase 3 - Advisory & On-Call
Provide recommendations on accounting best practices and compliance.
Offer on-call financial support as needed (hourly).
Ensure data accuracy and proper system setup (chart of accounts, vendor/customer info, etc.).
Experience
Proven experience as an Accountant, Bookkeeper, or Finance Professional.
Strong proficiency with
Zoho Books
(experience with other systems like QuickBooks/Xero is an asset).
Excellent skills in financial reconciliation, reporting, and bookkeeping.
High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
