:We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in the mining industry, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with the ability to process customer applications, maintain customer records, and resolve customer inquiries. As an Accountant, you will be tasked with monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action.Responsibilities:

• Efficiently processing customer credit applications
• Accurate maintenance of customer credit records
• Overseeing the payable, journal entries, and payroll functions
• Extraction and interpretation of data from vendor receipts
• Handling accounts payable tasks, including data entry, coding, matching, and balancing EFTs manually
• Conducting bank-related journal entries
• Managing multiple bank accounts, including US and CDN, and 2 investment-related accounts
• Handling payroll for both head office and site employees, including statutory pay
• Performing progress and cost analysis
• Tracking costs, drilling meters, IP program numbers, and conducting comparative analysis using Excel.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Canadian Payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.

• Expertise in Account Reconciliation, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations, including the ability to reconcile bank statements with general ledger balances.

• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Journal Entries, ensuring they accurately represent financial transactions.

• Experience with Sage 50 accounting software, demonstrating the ability to utilize its features to streamline and automate accounting tasks.
