Overview

We are an established cake business, operating in our current Oakville location since 2022. We sell cakes to individuals and businesses across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and we also specialise in wedding cakes.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The role requires a commitment of 2-3 hours per day, four days a week (Tuesday to Friday). The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting principles and practices, with strong proficiency in

QuickBooks Online

This is a

contractor position

, not a payroll role. The successful candidate will operate as an independent contractor, billing us for hours worked and any pre-approved expenses.

Responsibilities

Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and scheduling payments Monitor and manage inventory on a daily basis Place orders with suppliers as needed Invoice customers via the Shopify platform Coordinate deliveries to customers and from suppliers Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to management

Requirements

Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (highly preferred) Experience with bank and account reconciliation, budgeting, and financial auditing Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
