We are seeking a skilled and organized Accountant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. We are looking for a motivated individual who can work with a team and independently to achieve professional goals.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

\xc2\xb7 Performs together with the finance team all duties associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

\xc2\xb7 Performs full cycle month-end close process including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

\xc2\xb7 Prepares monthly credit card reconciliations and related journal entries

\xc2\xb7 Acts as a liaison and builds relationships with all departments to resolve accounting issues

\xc2\xb7 Works closely with other team members to coordinate responsibilities and prioritize tasks to ensure that all key deadlines are met

\xc2\xb7 Files monthly sales tax and EHT returns

\xc2\xb7 Provides direction and feedback to junior assistants

\xc2\xb7 Assists in the preparation for the annual audit

\xc2\xb7 Participates in the rollout of finance projects and initiatives

\xc2\xb7 Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and improvements

\xc2\xb7 Performs other duties as required

Qualifications and Core Skills:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting and Finance from an accredited institute or equivalent experience

\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 3 years of Canadian and/or US accounting experience.

\xc2\xb7 Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language

\xc2\xb7 Experience with Amazon Accounting

\xc2\xb7 Advanced computer skills including ERP systems, Microsoft Office

\xc2\xb7 Proactive problem-solving/judgment skills

\xc2\xb7 Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

\xc2\xb7 Attention to detail;

\xc2\xb7 Organized, proactive and self-motivated individual capable of producing results and meeting deadlines;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and clients;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced, business environment; and,

\xc2\xb7 Expected to manage work with minimum supervision.
