Job Description


We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client, a reputable and dedicated non-profit organization based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Ideal for a proactive professional, this permanent position offers a dynamic environment with broad, day-to-day involvement.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Payroll processing and reconciling
  • Journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Coordinate with various units and departments on credit card statements
  • Track and monitor expenditures
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close
  • Collaborate and contribute to financial statement preparation
  • Other accounting project and support duties as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3 - 5+ years accounting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting; background in the non-profit sector is considered a strong asset
  • High proficiency in spreadsheet tools, with advanced knowledge of Excel or similar platforms
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Keen eye for detail and well-developed organizational abilities
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively
