Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Public Firm Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of financial auditing and corporate finance.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles. Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Perform account analysis and reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data. Manage payroll processing and ensure timely payment of employee salaries. Utilize accounting software such as Xero, for various accounting tasks. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support corporate finance initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting accounting practices.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within the finance sector. Strong knowledge of financial auditing practices and corporate finance principles. Proficiency in accounting software including Xero is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Mortgage background is a plus
