We encourage student development and educate Mount Royal University about becoming a more accessible, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.About the RoleThe Accommodated Exam Scheduler is accountable for accurately scheduling a high volume of accommodated exams and maintaining integrity of exams while communicating effectively with the Exam Facilitator, students, faculty, and/or other Access and Inclusion Services staff. The incumbent must be well versed in the diversity of exam accommodations for students experiencing disability related barriers and how to adjust the current database to accommodate exam booking requests. As a first point of contact with students and faculty, the Accommodated Exam Scheduler requires high level customer service and communication skills, to evaluate customer needs and facilitate accommodated exam writing while ensuring exam integrity. The incumbent will assist with invigilation of midterm exams (including tests and quizzes) and will assist with the invigilation of accommodated final exams. The incumbent is responsible for covering the Administrative Assistant\'s role for portions of the day as needed. The incumbent must maintain a welcoming, friendly attitude while using high level thinking, problem solving and independent decision making skills to determine an individual\'s needs. The incumbent must deal competently and confidentially with diverse stakeholders.Responsibilities

  • Accurate coordination, prioritization, and scheduling of accommodated exam/assessment requests using a customized student tracking database.
  • Receive a high volume of exam booking requests throughout the semester including an increased number of requests during midterm and final exam periods
  • Sort and prioritize exam booking requests to ensure timely processing of requests
  • Review exam booking request information and identify any errors with the request
  • Communicate with faculty, students, and/or the Accommodated Exam Centre Coordinator regarding errors in requests, and queries, and facilitate the correction of errors to ensure the integrity of accommodated exam bookings
  • Accurately assign appropriate accommodated exam stations based on information indicated in each booking request from both the database
  • Document up-to-date information in the database
  • Provide timely communication to faculty, students, and other Access and Inclusion Services staff regarding the scheduling of accommodated exams/assessments
  • Communicate the accommodated exam process and other relevant information with accuracy to all stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate exam/assessment scheduling tools are available and up to date
  • Cross-training and cross-support with other Accommodated Exam Centre roles as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Access and Inclusion Services, processes, and procedures in the Accommodated Exam Centre, MRU policies, and services to respond to a variety of questions or concerns posed by stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Two-year Diploma from a University
  • One to two years Post-Secondary related experience with a focus on customer service experience required
  • And/or equivalent education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience providing services to students experiencing disability-related barriers at a Post-Secondary level
  • Flexible work hours Monday - Friday (day or evening 8 hr shift)
  • Ability to effectively multitask and meet deadlines while maintaining confidentiality both in a team environment and independently
  • Highly organized with an eye for accuracy and detail
  • Advanced oral and written communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Highly proficient with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and the ability to learn new software and database programs
  • Exceptional intercultural competencies and customer service practices
