As a member of our Infrastructure group, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various infrastructure projects, such as: roadways, highways and interchanges; bridges and overpasses; water and wastewater treatment facilities; transmission lines; general/public transportation including airports, seaports and light rail transit lines (LRTs); and conventional and alternative power generation like wind farms and district energy facilities. You will also further hone your skills operating under various delivery methods including Design-Build, P3 (Public-Private Partnership), Construction Management and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).

About The Role

The Senior Scheduler/Planner reports directly to the Project Director on the Winnipeg Waste Water Treatment Plant and will be responsible for preparing and updating the construction program and provide planning support to the Project Team as directed. This position will also consider Calgary based candidates who are willing to travel to Winnipeg to be based on the project.

As a Senior Scheduler/Planner at Graham you will:

  • Preparation, monitoring and updating project schedules and providing planning and scheduling services to Graham project management teams
  • Develop overall project schedules for large Infrastructure projects in the execution stage with total project values
  • Oversee as built schedules for completed projects to assist with commercial and financial strategies for full recovery
  • Creating project work breakdown structure and work packages (WBS)
  • Understand the design process and procurement process as it relates to construction, and incorporate these processes into the project master schedule
  • Establish project specific requirements for project schedule reporting and assist in developing the process to satisfy the reporting/feedback requirements of the project management team and the client
  • Integrate third party sub trade and supplier schedules into master schedule and update on a regular basis
  • Develop cash flow and resource curves based on project estimates and master schedule
  • Generate reports on long and short term resource requirements for the project, interfacing with Operations, Owners, Estimators, and subcontractors to ensure proper planning, and to identify conflicts or problems and offer solutions
  • Analyze project performance against the critical path. Agree corrective actions with the project team where required to mitigate schedule slippage
  • Must be able to track, review and analyze schedule throughout all phases of the project to determine any deviations and any corrective actions required
  • Assist in training and developing Project Coordinators and site planners in using Primavera P6 to allow updating and schedule maintenance to create a culture of planning within the Infrastructure team
To be Successful at Graham, you will have the following qualifications and experience: or Qualifications/Experience:
  • Graduate of a Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering degree or technology program
  • A minimum of 7 plus years of relevant experience
  • Must have extensive P6 scheduling experience in the water sector
  • Must have experience in building schedules and understanding the process with trade interfaces, critical paths, float analysis and resource loading
  • Good understanding of cost/schedule integration and earned value management
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Cost Control experience would be an asset
