POSITION SUMMARY
We are actively looking for an Academic Admin to join our Academic Department. The Academic Admin will work closely with students, instructors and other administrative staff under the direct supervision of the Academic Manager to maintain strong communication and ensure smooth operations of the Academic department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Academic Admin are subject to change and additional duties may be assigned over time as the situations require. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform general administrative assistant duties for the academic department, this includes, preparing course calendars, class lists, attendance sheets, teacher schedules, inventory of course materials and other resources needed.
Maintain student academic records and databases.
Assist students all through their learning journey, including handling student complaints and issues.
Maintain the inventory of books and equipment of the academic department.
Coordinate meetings and appointments for the academic department.
Collect and organize the academic records (academic grades, attendance, and other) for evaluation and reporting
Assist in developing and reviewing course curriculum and syllabus
Assist in ensuring the smooth daily operation of the department
Perform other tasks assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Education or a related field and/or direct related experience. Previous experience in a Post-Secondary Education environment would be considered an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication along with the ability to multitask, and to work independently and in a team-based environment
Experience in document preparation, file management, scheduling
Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal communication skills (listening, conflict resolution, diplomacy, patience, empathy), including having to be able to deal with students' and instructors' concerns and issues.
Tech-savvy with an understanding of Software, including Google Classroom, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
PERSONALITY
Self-starter, with a genuine interest in making a positive difference in students' educational and professional lives.
Detailed-oriented and result-driven personality with the ability to multitask, strong work ethic, and time management skills.
Excellent ability to perform tasks with accuracy, quality, promptness, and minimal supervision while maintaining deadlines, best practices, and compliance.
