About Our Opportunity

The Program Administration Officer (PAO) 3, Academic Funding Plan (AFP) facilitates the ongoing day-to-day administration of twelve (12) academic departments across the two Health Authorities, with approximately 800 FTE physicians. The PAO will be the first line of contact for physicians and Health Authorities regarding contract and funding, including changes to FTEs within the AFP. They will coordinate regular reporting from the departments, support monitoring of compliance with contracted expectations and assist with the planning, administration, monitoring, review and improvement of AFP funding arrangements.

Primary Accountabilities

The PAO is responsible for providing specialized and/or administrative and supervisory work for the delivery of the AFP program, including supervision of issues resolution in accordance with departmental policies and government legislation; and plan, develop, evaluate, promote and monitor new initiatives. Additional accountabilities include:

  • Analyses and provides program recommendations through reports and advice to management and develops program plans, updates program(s) and provides program evaluation. Provides contract management, communications, and implementation of initiatives and programs.
  • Identifies needs and responds to questions and concerns from key stakeholders and program users.
  • Supports senior colleagues in the development of internal and external communications.
  • Supports budgets and forecasts through timely and effective coordination and analysis of operating expenditures to produce financial reports.
  • Manages day-to-day relationships with clients, contract service providers, and team while working within an established contract management plan.
  • Provides backup and support to other team members of the Alternative Funding and Physician Agreement teams.
Qualifications and Experience

As the successful candidate, you hold a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree plus five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience, in
  • Working in organizational health and wellness, health and safety, and/or human resources or related field,
  • Writing and coordinating policies, plans or procedures,
  • Engaging with partners (internal and external to the organization),
  • Delivering excellent written and verbal communication including the ability to communicate effectively and confidently when presenting to groups and across multiple levels of an organization,
  • Conducting research and submitting proposals for continuous improvement,
  • Gathering, analyzing and disseminating data,
  • Administrating financial programs,
  • Operating in an ambiguous and continuously evolving work environment.
A high degree of computer literacy, with a good knowledge of standard office software, is required. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are all requirements, as well as a demonstrated ability to plan effectively to meet deadlines to manage competing priorities.

Working Conditions
  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day. You may be required to work overtime on occasion.

Pay Grade: PR 13

Salary Range: $2,543.38 - $3,091.70 Bi-Weekly
