SCHOOL: Similkameen Elementary Secondary School

POSTING: #76 - 2022/23

POSITION: Alternate Program Teacher

APPOINTMENT: 0.8 FTE Temporary

DURATION: As Soon As Possible to June 30, 2023

Qualifications Required:
secondary education degree plus an inclusive education certificate or 5 upper-level courses (must include a Level B Assessment course);

preferred experience and training in Alternate Education;

recent successful secondary classroom teaching experience in adapting curriculum;

ability to lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Education Plans;

ability to select and adapt curriculum, programs and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students both;

ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness;

knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices;

demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level;

effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;

ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and

BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
