Job Description

Climbing Wall Volunteers aid with general duties associated with the Westside climbing wall, including belaying patrons during open climbing times and assisting instructors in climbing programs for children 5-12Y.

Responsibilities:

Be aware of the environment and have appropriate safety awareness and judgement. Belay patrons in a safe and controlled way. Help patrons in and out of harnesses as assigned by the climbing wall staff. Assist the staff member(s) in making the climbing wall a safe and fun environment during both open and program times Set up and put away equipment such as harnesses, carabineers, etc. Be helpful and courteous to staff and customers - direct patrons to the front desk if they have any questions. Be aware of all safety and emergency procedures. Be enthusiastic and welcoming!

Work Term:

September - June. Evenings and weekends. 2 shifts/week. Shifts are 2-3 hours long.

Qualifications/ Skills Required:

Between 13 and 17 years of age. Completion of minimum of Emergency First Aid with CPR C. Completion of Volunteer Training - Provided by Westside. * Completion of Westside Belay Test.
