The Youth Program Lead will be responsible for leading, motivating, and training youth (ages 6 to 18 years old) in the fundamentals of boxing. This role requires a passion for youth development, physical fitness, and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and lead boxing classes tailored to different age and skill levels
Teach boxing fundamentals, including technique, footwork, conditioning, and rules
Provide mentorship and foster positive character development through sport
Ensure safety protocols are followed and that equipment is used properly
Monitor participant progress and adjust training as needed
Address behavioral issues with professionalism and compassion
Assist with program planning, evaluations, and events (e.g., attend scheduled meeting, tournaments, club shows)
Report any incidents or concerns to the Program Director promptly
Supervise and oversee Peer Coaches and Volunteer Coaches assigned to your program
Required Qualifications:
Previous experience coaching or competing in a sport (preferrably boxing or martial arts)
Experience working with youth in a leadership or mentorship capacity
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere
First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain
Must pass vulnerable sector screening
Must be 21 or older
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in youth work, physical education, or sport psychology
Experience working in underserved or diverse communities
Working Hours:
Juniors Program (ages 12-18)
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays
4:30pm to 5:30pm
Little Roosters Program (ages 6-12)
Monday and Wednesdays
5:30pm to 6:30pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
