Position Overview



The Program Lead is expected to work within established guidelines of the YWCA and within the policy, procedures and regulations to deliver the planned quality before and after school program.

Responsible for the coordination, management and delivery of the program through the creation and implementation of the daily program and menu (snack) planning.

Ensures the program is operating according to all required and mandatory YWCA & BAP standards.

Works in collaboration with the Program Assistant by providing them with daily instruction, guidance and support in regard to the implementation of the overall program.

Develops plans and leads students in a variety of settings and delivers a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities.

Must be a team player with skills in supervision and caring for children/students in a large group setting.

Has a professional attitude, positive leadership and effective communication skills.

Must have culture awareness, sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Reliable, flexible and dependable.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Work in collaboration with monitoring and evaluation partners to complete self-assessments, program validation, and assurance of program standards.

Work can be demanding both physically and mentally.

Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education/ Child and Youth Studies, Community Recreation and /or extensive related experience in a childcare or recreation setting.

Minimum 1 year experience working with children.

Supervisory/Leadership training or experience.

Food Handling/Safety Certificate - or willing to obtain.

Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.

Child Abuse Record Check, Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Check.
