Youth Mental Health Therapist?- 0.4 FTE?(Contract Based)
Based in Spruce Grove, WestView Primary Care Network is Alberta's 2nd Primary Care Network (PCN). Working collaboratively with family physicians and other health care providers, the PCN strengthens primary health care delivery in the communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County.
We are currently recruiting a Youth Mental Health Therapist (MHT) who will provide comprehensive functional assessment services and care to patients within the Primary Care Network's Youth Mental Health Clinic (YMHC). The MHT will assess, plan, implement and evaluate behavioural based treatment plans to patients aged 11-25. The MHT will work directly with family physicians in the community, other health professionals, local and regional programming, in a multi-disciplinary environment to ensure a high quality of evidence-based health care to the practice population.
The MHT is expected to be flexible and accommodating to the needs of PCN physicians and other team members within the YMHC, and as approved by the PCN.
Key Responsibilities
To work collaboratively in a patient centered, integrated team based primary care
To participate in the care of individual patients, practice populations and associated communities.
To take on a solution-focused, goal-directed motivational interviewing approach (40-50 min.) with clinic patients
Development and communication of brief intervention strategies with clinic patients
To make professional, competent and autonomous decisions with patients as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
To act as a resource to other multidisciplinary team members, healthcare institutions and community agencies or programs.
To ensure accurate, objective and timely clinical documentation in the appropriate medical record.
Competencies & Behaviours
Master's degree in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology or equivalent (e.g., Bachelor's Degree, RN or RPN with extensive counselling experience)
Registration with relevant College as recognized by the Health Professions Act
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare provider
Vehicle/license
Professional Liability Insurance needed

Understand the Alberta privacy laws and act according to those laws.
