Job Title: Facility Host CoordinatorStatus: Full Time, salaried position, evening and weekends required, YMCA Moncton NorthPosition Overview Facility Host Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of service and member/participant/public satisfaction. The FHC will be the responsible for decision-making, conflict resolution, community relationships, problem solving, dealing with youth related situations, and more. Responsibilities also include facility checks, inspections, monitoring, greeting, building relationships, cleaning, and equipment inventory. Constant checks and walk-throughs of all indoor and outdoor spaces are necessary. This role is also a back-up for all other departments if help is needed for tours, youth programs, cleaning, fitness, and community at both locations.Duties

  • Provide assistance by modeling positive behavior, enforcing rules, and serving as a mentor for young people, adults, and seniors.
  • Foster collaboration and leadership among young people in the facilities through activities that promote positive social interactions and encourage participants to actively pursue responsibility for their actions and the space (Youth Advisory).
  • Organize and facilitate recreational activities on a daily basis. Activities will include special events outside of regular hours and program schedule.
  • Oversee program staff and volunteers, providing guidance and managing schedules to ensure facility coverage at peak times.
  • Provide support to other departments in interacting and building relationships with youth. This includes providing trainings and acting as lead in youth interactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners.
  • Perform facility checks and inspections (playground inspection, splash pad, child protection, etc) and coordinate schedules for other departments for facility checks during peak hours.
  • Work closely with maintenance and housekeeping team to ensure a safe and clean facility.
  • Provide information and regular monitoring of the fitness centre, gym, walking track, and splashpad areas, ensuring good relationships and cleanliness.
  • Provide support to membership teams as needed.
  • Complete incident reports, facility work orders, and inform leadership team of any pertinent information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Be a support staff in all community programs as needed including Youth Connections, Tween Zone, Mobile Fun, Alternative Suspension, Adult Day Program, Plusone, and YCAN.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications Experience working with youth in a preventative approach. Experience planning and delivering activities for all age groups Well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with youth, staff and volunteers. Excellent written communication and problem solving skills.
