Reporting to the Senior Equipment Manager, the Yard Supervisor will provide support for operations and sites. This position will also be responsible for leading and supporting various other Westrac employees working in the yard on equipment, concrete forms, warehousing items, and electrical duties ensuring areas are kept clean and all work is completed safely.



This position is based at our Sturgeon County, AB location.
What You Will Be Working OnResponsible for leading and supporting other Westrac employees in the yard, shop, and warehouse. Work in conjunction with the fleet manager to plan and direct the day-to-day operations of the yard and warehouse. Ensure all work is completed safely. Communication point with multiple sites requesting items from the warehouse. Ensure all proper documentation is completed for all assets and equipment leaving from and returning to the yard. Oversee workload of others and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. Be the main voice of the yard when it comes to communication with the main Westrac office. Organize merchandise and upkeep of shop and yard; load, unload and deliver shipments. Operate shop equipment. (i.e. telehandler, skid steers, forklifts, front end loaders). Loading & unloading trucks that come to the yard with various equipment and tools (note heavy equipment is loaded and unloaded but the truck drivers themselves). Understand company's guidelines pertaining to warehousing and delivery to various work sites. Track and maintain accurate documentation, including the coordination of vehicle/equipment coming and leaving the yard. Perform other general shop duties as required and help out others when asked and needed.

What We Are Looking ForHigh school diploma. Valid Alberta Driver's license and acceptable drivers abstract. Forklift Certification and other various material handling equipment is an asset. Knowledge of concrete formwork is an asset. Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs. Zoomboom / Telehandler operating experience is an asset. Basic construction and tool handling knowledge an asset. Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups. Strong written and oral communication skills. Desire to learn new things. Previous experience managing others an asset. Previous experience working for or with Bird an asset.
