About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized

Yard Manager

to oversee day-to-day operations of our yard facility. The Yard Manager is responsible for managing personnel, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving efficiency across all yard activities. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage people and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and schedule yard employees to ensure safe and efficient operations. Oversee the loading, unloading, and organization of materials and equipment. Maintain accurate inventory levels and proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials. Ensure all safety protocols, company policies, and equipment maintenance schedules are followed. Monitor workflow and productivity, making adjustments as necessary to meet operational goals. Coordinate with dispatch, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth communication and scheduling. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and employee performance. Conduct regular yard inspections and safety meetings. Lead by example with a hands-on approach and a strong focus on teamwork and accountability.

Qualifications

Minimum

3-5 years of experience

in yard, warehouse, or logistics management (supervisory experience required). Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Working knowledge of equipment operation (e.g., forklifts, loaders, etc.) and maintenance procedures. Commitment to safety standards and compliance. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Computer literacy with experience in scheduling, inventory, or logistics systems.

Schedule & Compensation

Full-time position

(Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed)
