The ideal candidate :

• Has 3 or more years management experience
• Ability to effectively supervise and manage a team of employees, including labourers and operators. This includes providing clear direction, setting expectations, coaching, mentoring, and fostering a team environment.
• Has the ability to train and mentor new team members on loading, unloading, product movements, yard maintenance responsibilities, and safety programs.
• Excellent organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize tasks, projects, and deadlines efficiently.
• Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of yard operations and maintenance.
• Prioritizing safety at all times is a MUST, with a strong commitment to enforcing safety protocols, promoting a safety culture, and proactively addressing any safety concerns.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and collaborate with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues that may arise in yard operations, ensuring minimal disruption and maximizing productivity.

In this role, some of what you will be responsible for:

Shipping and Receiving

• Employee Supervision of all staff employed in the Yard Crew including Laborers and Operators.
• Training new team members on loading, unloading, product movements, and yard maintenance responsibilities.
• Ensure that all team members\' certifications are current and valid, and provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company rules on personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reinforce a team environment with co-operation, coaching and being a mentor to current and new team members.
• Training for all new team and current members for safety and all safety programs and company rules on PPE.
• Manage the day to day loading and unloading operations starting with morning meetings and setting the daily expectations for the team with clear instruction on the workload and assignment to each team. Provide loading and unloading paperwork along with any additional supporting documentation to ensure that the team has clear direction.

Coordinate unloading and Shipping

• Work with Logistics Manager to effectively meet the receiving and delivery schedules through proper planning and use of team resources to accomplish all of the daily tasks.
• Offer suggestions and solutions on any potential scheduling conflict or load configuration issues.
• Work with the Production manager to ensure that the scheduled flow of product to the production department is staged and that swaps are performed in a timely manner. This is a part of the daily expectations for task completion placed upon the logistics team.
• Direct the logistics team in the unloading of product validating product received against the provided paperwork to ensure 100% accuracy in goods received, and signed off by receiving team members.
• Ensure all parts unloaded are accounted for and either placed in the appropriate areas such as trailer components, or all other items received are brought to the parts department for receiving.
• Inspection of incoming product for any visible damage to note at time of receipt to report to vendor, and internally so all parties are informed of any deficiencies in the product.

Machinery and yard maintenance

• Ensure that team members are conducting morning equipment checks and filling out all inspection sheets to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order at all times. If deemed necessary pull keys and tag out equipment that is not fit for operation.
• Communicate all equipment service required with the Logistics Manager to be scheduled with the truck and coach technician.
• Coordinate with the yard team the organization of all products in the staging areas according to rigged ready to ship, staged for rigging, and stock units to keep an organized efficient locating system for all products in dedicated areas. Work with the yard map to maintain these areas.
• At the end of each shift ensure the storage of all equipment in the dedicated areas as per the season.
• Ensure that all loading debris is continuously cleaned and removed from the yard to maintain a clean, safely organized yard for all work to be performed. To be performed daily by a dedicated team member.

Compensation:

At Legend Boats, we believe in recognizing and rewarding exceptional talent. As the Yard Crew Manager, you\'ll receive a competitive salary within the range of $62,073 to $73,075, based on your experience and qualifications.
