J&D Penner's Yard Decor Store & More provides Winnipeg and surrounding areas a unique experience in the world of landscaping. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, J&D Penner offers clients an abundance of knowledge and expertise. From paving stone and retaining walls, to birdbaths and fountains, to pond supplies, we offer it all. We are now looking for a dependable and energetic Store Manager, who is eager to learn and continue to grow our seasonal store and sales team.

Skills Required:

Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lead a sales team and yard crew in product knowledge, accurately create orders through our POS system and guide the preparation of physical stock for delivery/pick up.

Creativity in merchandising products in such a way that encourages sales.

Responsibilities:

Order materials according to the needs of the store from a variety of vendors.

Maintain a clean and organized sales gallery and a variety of outdoor displays.

Review and direct deliveries in stock yard so that materials are placed correctly, ensuring inventory is manageable and can be efficiently recorded on a continuous basis.

Train store sales and yard crew team in policies and procedures.

Be knowledgeable of materials sold and offer guidance to homeowners and contractors

Interact with both customers and fellow staff in a positive manner.

Continually monitor store sales and work with marketing team to reach sales goals.

Ensure that store & yard staff follow health & safety policies and procedures.

As this department is seasonal (roughly mid-March through November) the Store Manager is in charge of coordinating all reopening and closing store procedures.

Experience in the landscaping/construction industry and team leadership would be considered an asset.

Product knowledge and technical training is provided.

Contract length: 9 months

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
