Wound Care Clinician - Permanent Full-Time (1.0 FTE)



Reporting to the Director of Nursing and Access and Flow, the Wound Care Clinician (WCC), will be accountable for supporting the delivery of exceptional wound care throughout Runnymede Healthcare Centre (RHC). The WCC will provide expertise in prevention, health maintenance, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitative nursing care. They are a clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. This can include:

Acute and Chronic Wounds Ostomies and Fistulas Percutaneous Tubes Continence Disorders Pressure Injury Prevention

Responsibilities Include:



Be involved in direct and indirect patient care using a systems-oriented and population-focused approach. Assess RHC Wound & Skin Program and provide recommendations to improve the wound care program. Facilitates and leads wound care rounds on the unit . Leads and participates in developing wound and skin care related policies, guidelines, and other practice documents. Formulates goal and a plan of care for applicable patients that involves the patient as a partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner. Communicates the plan of care to the nursing staff, physicians, patient and family, and other members of the health care team as applicable. Collaborates with the interprofessional team in the development of comprehensive care plans for complex or high-risk patients. Conducts would care prevalence study every alternate year. Collaborate with the Director to assess the quality of care from patients and the healthcare team; develop, implement, and monitor performance benchmarks; compare and analyze data against other facility practices.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/experience:



Current registration and membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Bachelor's in nursing required. Completion of an accredited program in Wound, Ostomy & Continence (e.g. International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC); or Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada (NSWOCC), required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Minimum of (2) two years of relevant nursing experience in acute care is required. Minimum of (2) two years of direct clinical practice in complex wound management. Ability to develop comprehensive care plans for patients with complex, acute and chronic wounds

Pay: $42.20-$60.48 per hour
