Workshop Facilitator

to join our team!

Salary:

$30.20 per hour, Grid 31, Step 2

Status:

Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work

: 36 Hours per week

Location:

The primary work location for this position will be the Open Door Group office at 900-1200 Burrard Street, Vancouver but will have secondary work locations of all Open Door Group sites in the Vancouver area as needed.



The

Workshop Facilitator

improves client employment readiness and independence through the delivery of competency-based training programs. This role also supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of curriculum, evaluates client progress towards training outcomes, and coordinates workshop scheduling to meet service delivery needs across all sites.

What you bring to the position:



Facilitation and Curriculum Development Skills

Strong facilitation and instructional skills Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices to create inclusive learning environments for individuals with disabilities. Ability to adapt instructional materials and delivery methods to accommodate diverse learner needs. Knowledge of adult learning and curriculum design principles. Ability to foster and maintain a positive and productive learning environment, effectively managing group dynamics. Ability to conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging topics to enhance workshop content and delivery. Ability to assess client needs and progress, measure learning outcomes against goals.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in speaking and writing Ability to foster positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds Ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and maintain composure under pressure Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others as part of a team

Organizational & Technical Skills

Ability to meet deadlines, manage a high-volume workload, and work under pressure while maintaining quality, customer-centered service Time management skills combined with ability to prioritize, strong organizational skills and attention to detail necessary. Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage virtual platforms, including ZOOM and Teams, to deliver high-quality online workshops Provides consistent, high-quality service in a fast-paced environment Proficient with Microsoft Office and databases Ability to take initiative, solve problems and adapt to change

Additional Skills:

Knowledge of Disability, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) employer resources, training, and communities of practice

Qualifications:



Diploma in Social Services, Instruction or Facilitation Recent, related experience of two (2) years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work Valid BC driver's license and use of a motor vehicle Must pass a criminal background check
