Job Description

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Workshop Facilitator to lead part-time programming with children, youth, and community members. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the arts and history, a love of storytelling, and experience in facilitating engaging activities. Skills in quilting and textile arts are especially valued.

Responsibilities:

Plan and facilitate interactive workshops that incorporate art, history, and storytelling. Encouraging student collaboration and teamwork during workshops. Develop activities with a focus on hands-on learning, creativity, and community connection. Adapt workshops to suit different age groups and learning styles. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to promote programming. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. Developing and implementing lesson plans that align with program goals and objectives.
Job Requirements:

Experience leading workshops, particularly with children and youth. Knowledge and appreciation of art, history, and storytelling traditions. Skills in quilting or textile arts (asset). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for community-based learning. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Patient and enthusiastic demeanor, must be able to encourage and motivate children during the learning process. Experience working with diverse stakeholders and working within an anti-oppressive framework to promote equity and inclusion. Must provide a recent Vulnerable Persons Check prior to employment.
Position Details:

Status: Part-time, flexible scheduling (evenings and weekends may be required)

Location: Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Ancaster
