: In January 2020, Langara College migrated its HR and Finance operations to the cloud-based Workday ERP platform. Langara is now moving into an exciting new phase of transforming its Student Information Systems (SIS) through a suite of solutions, including the Workday Student product. The Workday Application Developer position is a 3-year term that will be responsible for developing the integrations and solutions to integrate the application ecosystem to Workday Student, that includes developing temporary integrations between Workday Student and Ellucian Banner Student, creating new integrations between Workday Student and other applications, and building new solutions to support Workday Student using the Workday integration framework (Enterprise Interface Builder, Connectors, Workday Studio), Integration Platform as a Service and other tools.

Under general leadership of the Development Manager and supervision of the Senior WD Application Developer, the Workday Application Developer develops and maintains the security configuration, integrations, and reports, and supports the production and non-production environments. As a member of a project team, the incumbent implements and supports systems in accordance with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices. Primarily involved with technical teams, staff, faculty, and student communities, the Workday Application Developer also provides technical and operational support to these stakeholders. May assign tasks and supervise on project phases over development staff in junior positions.

Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Computing Science required from a recognized institution.
  • Additional specialized industry training in programming languages, technologies, and software development techniques.
  • Minimum four (4) years of recent related development experience with two (2) years of proven experience with Workday HCM, Finance or Student.
  • Experience with Workday technologies - Web Service Application Program Interface (APIs), Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Report Writer, Cloud Connect, Business Process Framework, Configurable Security, Calculated Fields.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with developing Workday integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with configuring, testing, and supporting Workday security, including domain security, business process security, role-based security and user-based security.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with advanced Workday report writing, including matrix reports, composite reports and BIRT reports.
  • Experience with enterprise integration architectures, patterns, SOAP, REST, JSON, XML and XSLT.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Banner HR/Payroll, Finance or Student an asset.
  • Higher-education or public sector experience desirable.
  • Workday Pro accreditations or Workday certifications desirable.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with confidential and proprietary data.
  • Ability to write technical and user support documentation and training materials.
Hours & Days of Work: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Salary Range: $40.03 - $45.64 per hour

Pay Grade: CUPE IT Paygrade H

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 37.5
