DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the IT Manager - Transactional Systems, the Application Developer designs, develops, modifies, maintains, and enhances oracle ERP transactional system and other systems that integrate with oracle ERP application (e.g., Apex, Kofax, Smoothie, EDI etc.). Provide technical support and trouble-shooting for production issues, conduct unit and integration testing of those solutions including documenting all solutions and updating the IT ticketing systems when required. Adhere to coding and installation standards, as well as any other IT policies or procedures. Hybrid position - 2 days in office minimum.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development

Understand business processes and the underlying system data architecture, collaborate with Business Analyst to create user requirements, and bridge the gap them with technical solutions as required
Perform project work in adherence with project timelines
Develop and maintain interfaces, reports, forms with internal and external transactional systems
Unit test and aid in user acceptance testing of the technical solution
Review issue and problem metrics, identify areas of improvement and propose solutions (e.g., automating processes, ensure data quality and integrity, improve processing speeds)
Provide end user training on the developed solution as required
Work with external consultants on an as needed basis

Application Support

Trouble shoot report and data problems using root cause analysis tools
Fix application bugs and liaise with business owners to address master data issues
Performance tuning of developed code

Administrative

Provide periodic task status updates to the team
Enter all issues/tasks assigned into the Issue Tracking System and keep status up to date
Practice effective communication to user community
Share knowledge of areas of expertise with other members of the team
Create and maintain documentation and ensure all solutions are documented based on Sleeman Standards
Requirements

Post-secondary education in Computer Sciences or related field.
Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL, REST API, XML Publisher, Oracle SOA, Java, JavaScript, Unix Scripting, HTML
Experience with Gitlab/DevOps preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience building and maintaining new capabilities, interfaces between systems
Oracle ERP Application development experience preferred or ERP in manufacturing environment
Experience with file transfer and data extractions using ETL tools
Good knowledge of Change Control process - Preparing Installation and adhering to approval processes.
Working knowledge of relational databases, client server concepts
Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
Logical and detail oriented
Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
Acceptable criminal check
Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization
Working Conditions

Travel may be required (occasional)
Flexibility to work in evenings and on weekends, as necessary
