About SWAP Working Holidays
SWAP Working Holidays (part of the JENZA Travel Brand) offers youth (18-35) a unique opportunity to explore the world through work and travel. Every year, we welcome thousands of international young travellers to Canada, helping them settle in and make the most of their Canadian experience, and we also support Canadians travelling abroad.
This is no ordinary desk job--you'll run pub nights, coordinate hockey games, and guide international working holiday travellers through life in Canada while having a blast!
Your Role
As the Vancouver Work in Canada Assistant Program Coordinator, you'll be the first friendly face for young international travellers on Working Holiday visas, helping them settle into Canadian life. From practical support to cultural tips, you'll ensure their transition is as smooth as possible.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support and Office Coordination (70%)
Answer questions and assist with everything from accommodation to travel and healthcare.
Provide personalized job search advice and review resumes and cover letters.
Maintain participant records, organize supplies, and manage mail.
Ensure office resources and local travel information are current.
Foster relationships with local employers and across western Canada.
Event Coordination (20%)
Host weekly group orientations and monthly social events.
Help participants experience Canadian culture with exciting outings.
Seasonal Program Coordination (10%)
Support the global brand of SWAP + JENZA Travel with seasonal coordination of programs for international youth and Canadians travelling abroad (Summer Work and Travel J1, Work in Canada Recognized Organization nomination program, etc.)
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
1-2 years of work experience, ideally 6 months+ in an office setting and 6 months+ of hospitality (serving, bartending, barista, etc.)
Skills & Traits:
Superb communication skills and an outgoing, people-first attitude
Thrives in a small team environment and works well one-on-one with staff and participants
Takes initiative and has strong problem solving and collaboration skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
Empathetic, culturally sensitive, and passionate about travel
Knowledge:
Familiarity with Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, Western Canada and must-visit spots across the country
Experience using Microsoft Suite (Teams, Word, Excel)
Project management or program management a plus
Familiarity with social media (Instagram) and design tools (Canva)
A second language is an asset but not mandatory. French or German preferred
