Job Description

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Analytics, Intelligence and Reporting Branch is looking for a highly skilled administrative professional who is strong team player with excellent organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the Analytics, Intelligence and Reporting Branch Inspector and Management teams in addition to ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the Branch.
  • Day to day office administration including coordinating the daily calendar and preparing materials for the Inspector and Branch.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and editing briefing notes, memorandums, intelligence bulletins, presentations and other types of correspondence.
  • Assisting in the management of the divisional budget including monitoring and tracking of all expenditures.
  • Management of an effective and efficient diary date tracking system including ensuring that all actions items are completed on time and accurately.
  • Creating meeting schedules and agendas, booking conference rooms, taking meeting minutes, assigning and tracking action items and preparing and distributing meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Liaising with other Edmonton Police Service business areas and other police agencies.
  • Performing general office duties, including composing correspondence and maintaining divisional payroll.
  • Collect, review, and evaluate a variety of intelligence documents and police occurrence reports.
  • Providing assistance to Criminal Intelligence Analysts as required through database checks, database creation and maintenance, data review and collation.
  • Create information documents to support analytical and organizational needs as directed
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college.
  • A minimum of three (3) years diversified office and administrative experience in a large office setting.
  • Extensive experience and training in Microsoft Suite of tools including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Highly developed customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced communication (oral and written) skills with excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Able to take initiative, show good judgment and work efficiently under pressure with changing priorities and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when dealing with confidential information.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work efficiently.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CPIC, JOIN, EPROS, and ORCA would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of City of Edmonton civic administration, EPS policies and procedures, and FOIP legislation would be an asset.
  • Applicants may be tested.
  • As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
Hours of Work:

33.75 hours per week, 0730 \xe2\x80\x93 1530 hours, Monday to Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

Salary Range:

21M, Salary Grade: 012, $26.92 - $33.76 (Hourly), $1,817.60 - $2,279.10 (Bi-Weekly), $47,440.40- $59,485.49 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
